Japanese game development studio Toaplan may not be as much of ahousehold name as companies like Nintendo, but anyone keyed into Internet culture will no doubt be familiar with its 1989 scrolling-shooterZero Wingfor spawning the iconic “all your base are belong to us” meme. That game, alongside similar shootersTruxton,Hellfire, andFire Shark, are being given physical re-releases for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive thanks to Retro-Bit Gaming.

Each of the four shooters has its own $44.99Collector’s Edition setwith goodies like slipcovers, stickers, and in the case ofZero Wingan art card featuring antagonist Cats saying his iconic line. There are also special interviews with Masahiro Yuge, a developer for Toaplan before the studio closed due to bankruptcy in 1994, and all four collections can be purchased in one huge bundle for $159.99.

Pre-orders for the Toaplan collections are available through Jun 02, 2025 via retailers like Strictly Limited in Europe and Limited Run Games in America, the latter of which is offering pre-orders for vinyl records based on theHellfire,Truxton, andZero Wingsoundtracks for $27.99 each. Limited Run Games is also offeringpre-orders for Game Boy re-releases ofShantae, the WayForward platformer, as of this writing.

Fans of Toaplan’s work should no doubt be excited about these sets, which may offer interesting insight into a bygone era of consoles thanks to elements like developer interviews. Theconsole war between Sega and Nintendoduring the Genesis era is also a focus in the upcoming CBS All Access documentary based on the bookConsole Warsby Blake Harris.

Pre-orders forZero Wingand other Toaplan re-releases on Sega Genesis are available through October 6.
