Xbox has officially announced that a playable demo ofHollow Knight: Silksongwill be available at Gamescom in August. The sequel toHollow Knightis one of the most highly anticipated games of all time. The game has spent over six years in development, with little to no updates from its developer, Team Cherry, causing many fans to worry that the title might getstuck in development limboand never see the light of day.

The game received an official release window (again) at theApril 2 Nintendo Direct, but has since failed to reveal the release date or any further information. Now, Xbox has officially confirmed, as revealed on theXboxwebsite, thata demo ofSilksongwill be available at the yearly gaming trade event Gamescom,which will take place on August 20-24.

The Wait For Silksong Is Almost Over

TheSilksongcommunity has been grasping at straws ever since the game was announced to be coming sometime in 2025. Since April, there have beennumerous rumors and speculationsabout whenSilksongwill finally be released, fueled bycryptic messages fromTeam Cherry memberWilliam Pellen and the continued lack of communication from the team at large.

As fans wait with bated breath, the game’s Reddit community has even gone as far as to startconducting mock “sacrifices"in the hopes of “appeasing” Team Cherry.

Although fans didn’t get theSilksongrelease date announcement they were expecting at last month’s Xbox Games Showcase,new footage from the gamewassneakily shown offduring the unveiling of Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox handheld device, the ROG Ally.

The Gamescom announcement confirms thatGamescom attendees will be able to play a demo ofSilksongfor both PC and the ROG Ally,finally getting the game into the hands of players besides Team Cherry.
