How To Play Wordle
In order to getWordle-ing, players first need to head to the right place. While there have been loads of copycats out there, some of theseWordleclone apps even stirring up some controversy, the original is on the New York Times Games page and New York Times Crossword app. These are the only two spots to see the first version ofWordlewhich is the subject of this article. Other versions have different answers than what is here, and many can have slight variations in rules as well.

To get started, players need to choose astartingWordleword. This word should follow some rules:
Once a great starting word is chosen, type it into theWordlesite; press enter. This will cause the letters to change colors.
Choose another word that matches the clues from the first word, then type it into the second line of theWordlegrid. Press enter, and its letters will also change colors, giving players even more hints to the word of the day.Wordleends when players either guess the answer correctly, or they run out of their six total tries. There is only one answer for everyone per day, and that puzzle will reset at midnight local time.
