Ever since the release ofLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, theLEGOfanbase has been trying to figure out what the next Traveller’s Tales game will be. The studio has been releasingLEGOgames at a very consistent pace for years now, and the next title is likely on the horizon. Nothing has been officially announced yet, and that has left fans to come up with their own wild LEGO concepts.
Over the past couple of months, the /r/legogaming subreddit has been filled with fans requesting new settings and sharing their dream LEGO games. They have been requesting everything from aLEGO Marvel Superheroes 3andLEGO Harry Potter 3toLEGO Austin Powersand evenLEGO The Golden Girls. There has been a plethora of wild fan-requested LEGO games, but most of them sound pretty outlandish.

LEGO Fans Have Been Asking For Some Wild Settings
Traveller’s Tales has been LEGO-fying popular licensed franchisesever since 2005’sLEGO Star Wars: The Video Game, and it is showing no signs of slowing down. As of now, the series has exploredStar Wars,Indiana Jones, DC Comics,Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter,The Lord of the Rings,The Hobbit, Marvel Comics, the MCU, and theLEGO Movieseries. It has also adapted LEGO City and a slew of different franchises in the toys-to-lifeLEGO Dimensions. There has been no shortage of LEGO adventures through popular franchises, but fans want even more.
Some of the most popular requests seem to be a newLEGO Harry Potter,Marvel Super Heroes, andBatmangames. There have also been requests for aLEGO Dimensions 2,LEGO City Undercover 2, and updated versions of games likeLEGO Lord of the Rings. A lot of these projects seem very plausible, and the current rumors suggest thatTraveller’s Tales is currently makingLEGO Batman 4, but the fan requests have not stopped there.
It seems like the subreddit has been suggesting some of the wildest franchises for LEGO games to adapt. There have beencalls for aLEGO Breaking Bad,LEGO Austin Powers,LEGO The Golden Girls, aLEGO Spaceballsgame,LEGO Dragon Ball Z,and even aLEGO James Bondgame. While some of these games could probably be a lot of fun, odds are low that any of them will ever happen.
As of now, every Traveller’s Tales LEGO gamehas explored franchises that already had numerous LEGO sets.LEGO Dimensionswas the only game that really branched out from this trend, but each character included a new LEGO set for players to build. Some of the characters even spawned multiple LEGO sets, or had recently gotten a LEGO set or two. Many of the requested games do not have LEGO sets associated with them, nor will they likely ever get them as most do not adhere to the family-friendly brand that LEGO has built for itself.
The family-friendly nature of these big franchises helps decide if they will given the LEGO treatment. LEGO tends to only release sets for IPs that have a PG-13 or lower rating, and these franchises have to be welcoming to younger audiences. Many of the fan-requested IPs cater towards older audiences, and that goes against LEGO’s brand. The ones that are more family-friendly have also never gotten a line of LEGO sets, which means LEGO does not have access to the IP or does not think it will sell well. If LEGO does not have it, then neither does Traveller’s Tales.
Franchises likeAustin PowersandBreaking Badnot being family-friendly pretty much disqualify them from starring in their own LEGO games, but the size of their audience do not help either. Traveller’s Tales has adapted the largest film franchises in the world, and seldom deviates from that. While some of these IPs may be popular, their audiences pale in comparison to that ofStar WarsorHarry Potter. Many of these IPs may be able to thrive in a crossover game likeLEGO Dimensions, but they would probably not be able to headline their own game.
The likeliest next step for Traveller’s Tales isanotherLEGOHarry PotterorLEGO Batmantitle, and the current rumors seem to confirm this. Most of the fan-requested themes will probably becomeLEGOunless something drastically changes. Instead, fans will just have to look forward to whatever journey the franchise brings them on next.
