Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotfans were expecting a new mode to come alongside the first DLC expansion, but it seems to be missing from the game altogether. The first DLC introduces Beerus and Whis and takes Goku and Vegeta to the godly duo’s home planet, allowing players to level up faster than ever before and unlock Super Saiyan God. Reception has been mixed, as many feel there isn’t enough content involved with the DLC, especially given the fact that it didn’t include therumored card battle modethat was supposed to be added to the game alongside this DLC.

For the uninitiated,Dragon Ball Z: KakarotJump Magazine Scans were shared by Dragon Ball Hype which showed a glimpse of a new mode coming to the game called “Cards Battle.” Not much was known about this mode at the time aside from a small frame in one of the scans, but many fans assumed nonetheless that the mode would be coming with the DLC. What makes this even more odd is thatDBZ: Kakarothas had two chances to add this mode in, as on Monday there was a large update to version 1.10 and on Tuesday the DLC dropped.

Where is DBZ: Kakarot’s Cards Battle Mode?

To put it plainly, thenew Cards Battle Modeis not in the game yet. The Add-ons section in the main menu makes no reference to any kind of Cards Battle Mode and Bandai Namco has not even shared any information regarding the new mode yet. There are no sub-stories or areas in the game where the player can unlock this Cards Battle Mode, as the DLC actually doesn’t affect the base game’s content in any way whatsoever. Needless to say, fans are somewhat confused about this as it was expected to be part of the DLC.

When Will Cards Battle Become Available?

It’s worth noting before speculation that nothing is confirmed here aside from the eventual existence of the Cards Battle Mode itself. There are rumors floating around that there will beanother free content updatewhich might add the Cards Battle Mode in, but they are just rumors. Just Saiyan, a popular YouTuber and streamer, purported that the free update would arrive next week and would include the Cards Battle Mode, but this too is simply speculation. That said, it seems likely that CyberConnect2 wouldn’t wait too long to release the mode it has teased in the scans.

One potential good thing that could come from the Cards Battle Mode not dropping with the DLC is that it could be free content available to everyone, including those that haven’t purchased theDBZ: Kakarotseason pass. The assumption was that the new mode would be bundled into the paid DLC, but since it didn’t drop at the same time, it is unlikely that Bandai Namco would update the game and add something only available to those that have purchased the DLC. This means the mode should end up being more accessible to players and might give fanssomething else to do inDBZ: Kakarot.

Other than that there is unfortunately not much to go off of. The Cards Battle Mode should be arriving sooner rather than later, but until Bandai Namco or CyberConnect2 make an official statement or there is a credible leak which details more about the mode and its release date, fans will simply have to wait. To make matters worse,Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s DLC doesn’t provide players with much else to do in the meantime, as the end game content is still terribly lacking in substance after the playerbeats level 250 Beerus.
