America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleadersseason 2 introduced Dayton Bramhall to a brand-new audience, and though she was someone long-time viewers may have remembered fromDallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team, many are wondering what happened to her after the season. Dayton’s appearances onDallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Teamwere difficult ones, leaving her heartbroken after auditioning for the DCC team and falling short of making the squad. A legacy DCC,Dayton is the daughter of Shelly Bramhall, Associate Choreographer for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Working closely with Judy Trammell, Shelly’s relationship with the team has been deeply personal.

While Dayton has tried out for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders in the past, her time onAmerica’s Sweetheartsseason 2was markedly different than her tryouts in the past. Coming into the original DCC series, Dayton was young, fresh-faced, and hadn’t experienced the pain of being cut from the audition process by people who her family considers close personal friends. Kelli Finglass, Director of the DCC team, has spoken about considering Dayton a part of her family, as Shelly’s someone she’s worked with closely for over 30 years.Dayton’s difficulties, and ultimately failure in, auditioning has been tough all around.

Dayton Was A DCC Legacy Whose Mom Works For The Team

While Dayton was a big part ofAmerica’s Sweetheartsseason 2,her history with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders goes much further back than the most recent round of DCC auditions. Dayton’s mother, Shelly, was a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader herself, having been part of the squad for five years in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Sharing on the show that she found out she was pregnant with Dayton at the end of her final season as a DCC, Shelly went on to continue working with the organization asKelli and Judy inherited the team, solidifying their bonds after cheering together.

Shelly’s time on the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders led to a genuinely lucrative and exciting career for her, asshe’s worked with Judy over the yearsand become an integral part of the team, working as a choreographer and events coordinator through the years. As Dayton grew up with her mother’s legacy in the back of her mind and in front of her eyes, becoming a DCC was a huge part of her upbringing. Trying out at 19 years old onDCC: Making The Team,Dayton was openly trying out for her mother’s legacy, but her return onSweetheartschanged things.

She Fell Short A Second Year In A Row

Although Dayton didn’t make theDallas Cowboys Cheerleaderssquad duringAmerica’s Sweetheartseason 2, she knew that she’d made incredible improvements in the last few years of her training. While Dayton’s auditions didn’t go her way, she made it a point to take the rejection and moved forward.
