How to get the Shrine Cursed Technique
Getting theShrine Cursed TechniqueinHeianisn’t as easy as it sounds. We need to travel across the world, win multiple challenging battles, and locate specificNPCsin the correct order. But doing all of these things rewards us with the strongestCursed Techniquein the game:Shrine. I will provide a detailed, step-by-step guide on how to obtain theShrinebelow. Please read it carefully.
Step 1: Get theCursed Embryo
To start this journey, you will need to find and kill theTengu Yeti. you may find him roaming around theKamakura Villagearea. He is a strongCursed Spirit, and you should fight him with otherSorcerers, but he can bekilled soloas well. Once you kill him, you will get theTengu Fur,Inverted Spear of Heaven, and most importantly for us, theCursed Embryo.Inverted Spear of Heavenis an amazing weapon, but theCursed Emberyois what we are after in thisShrinequestline. Here is a retrospective of the steps:
Step 2: Find out where to take theCursed Embryo
After getting theCursed Embryo, we need to head back toKirisaki Village. You will find aMerchantstanding at the gates of the town, and we need totalk to him. Ask him if he knows anything about theCursed Embryo, and he will tell you he does not, but he will point you tosomeone who does. He will instruct you to findKennyand give him theCursed Embryo, as he knows more about this matter. Here is a retrospective of the steps:
Step 3: Find Kenny and get theCursed Finger
To findKenny, we first need to find theZenin Residence. Head into theOvergrowth Area, and follow theFiend Pathuntil you reach past theZenin Residenceand enter theLight Cave. Once you enter theLight Cave, navigate yourself to theRune Stone(don’t forget to activate all Rune Stones, you will need them). Right behind theRune Stoneis a smallopening in the cave walls. Goinsidetheopening.
Once you enter inside the opening in the cave wall, you will stumble upon a sort of makeshift laboratory. You will findKennynear a table with aCursed Spiriton it. Talk toKennyand ask him about theCursed Embryo. He will take theCursed Embryoand give you aCursed Fingerin return. He will explain that you need toeat the fingerto awaken theShrine’s power, but be ready, as this act isvery dangerous. Here is a retrospective of the steps:
Step 4: Eat theCursed Fingerand fight the Shrine Trainer
WARNING: This step is risky, as it involves a fight. If you lose the fight, you will be teleported back to Kenny, you will lose theCursed Finger, and you will have to kill the Tengu Yeti again for anotherCursed Embryo. Before entering, ensure you are strong and well-prepared. I recommend that you have at least 80 Skill Points before you eat the finger.
Once you eat theCursed Finger, you will be teleported toSukuna’s Domain. There, you will have to speak to theShrine Spiritand start afightwith theNPCthat will appear in front of you. This fight can bechallenging, so please read theWARNINGabove. TheNPCwill use close-range attacks that deal a lot of damage if they connect. I recommend playing it safe and poking him from a distance, and only going in when he is knocked down. Once he is down for good, walk up to him andexecutehim. Here is a retrospective of the steps:
Step 5: Get the Shrine Cursed Technique
Once youkilltheNPCand execute it, theShrine Spiritwill appear again. Walk up to it and press theInteract (E)button to speak with it again. TheShrine Spiritwill tell you about theShrine Cursed Technique, and once you are done with all the dialogue, you will be in possession of themost powerful Cursed Technique in Heian. Talk to it one more time toleaveSukuna’s Domain. Once you return to the real world,you are done! Here is a retrospective of the steps:
