Not surprisingly, games that were disappointingto many gamers in 2018, such asFallout 76,Battlefield 5, andDarksiders 3did not make the top 10 list. It is surprising though to seeGod of Warnot higher on the list. After all,God of Warwas considered one of 2018’s best games, winning Game of the Year at The Game Awards and numerous publications. Of course, it’s possible thatGod of War’s sales were hindered a bit by the fact that it is a PS4 exclusive game, whereas most of the games on the list are multi-platform.
Many gamers and critics definitely expected to seeRed Dead Redemption2as the best-seller of the year, even though it’s only on consoles.Red Dead Redemption2proved to be the biggest game of the year by far, and made the top three lists of many 2018 round-ups.Red Dead Redemption2exceeded the expectations of most gamers and critics with praise aimed at its huge map, great graphics, and endless quests.
