Ubisoft debuted a brand new cinematic trailer forThe Division 2during itsE3 2018 press conference. The trailer centralized around the normalization of post-crisis life inThe Division, at first teasing a return to legitimate society and then transitioning into the truth – rampant terrible cruelty and civilization upturned. Set in Washington D.C.,The Division 2will continue exploring the unique ideas that open up when society as we know it ends.
In The Division 2 players will be intruding on a post-crisis Washington D.C. with already established enemy factions, rather than developing ones. Each vying for power and entrenched in what’s become a city under siege. The Division agents are called to Washington D.C. to salvage what’s left of the United States of America, but what if all they find is “remnant of a corrupt state” looming just beneath the streets?
“Help” reads a note written in a paper airplane, as discovered byDivision agents returning to Washington D.C. They look out onto the city having no idea where the note came from but knowing that it may as well have come from everywhere. The Division 2 will recreate Washinton D.C. entirely, a 1:1 in-game representation of the city. Secrets are hidden around every corner, all of which will need to be uncovered to truly return normalcy to Washington D.C.
In addition to showing the cinematic trailer, Ubisoft also revealed several other exciting details aboutThe Division 2. Not only was the release date announced, but also Ubisoft’s plans for three major post-launch content releases. Perhaps most exciting to forThe Divisionplayers though was the announcement of raids, large-scale dungeons that require more players that will challenge even the best of players.
