WhilstChilling Adventures of Sabrinadoes share many of the same characters with its namesakeSabrina the Teenage Witch, theNetflixshow is a much darker supernatural take on the iconic TV series. The Chilling Adventures of Sabrinabegan as part of the Archie comics universe from Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who wrote both the comic and the television adaptation. He is also responsible for theRiverdaleandKaty Keeneshows which all co-exist in a shared universe.

Thefinal episodes ofChilling Adventures of Sabrinawill air later this year, but following that, fans can also look forward to the planned fifth season still coming to life. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa took to Twitter to announce the news that the fifth season originally titled “Witch War” will continue in the graphic novel series.

For a long time fans had hope that the twoArchieshows would cross over, but conflicting production schedules and studio rights kept anything significant from happening. This latest announcement does finally confirm that an officialSabrina-Riverdalecrossover was planned for the fifth season, but will unfortunately not be realized on screen. But withRiverdalestill on the air there is the possibility forSabrinacharacters to make an appearance in future seasons of the sister show.

It isn’t uncommon for cancelled TV shows to continue their runs in comic books, withFireflyandBuffy The Vampire Slayerboth doing this to some success. Even thoughChilling Adventures of Sabrinahas been cancelled it still has potential to live a lot longer in its comic book run.
