A major DC character who made their cinematic debut inSupermanwas Michael Holt, a.k.a. Mister Terrific, played by Edi Gathegi, who even got to be part oftheSupermanmovie post-credits scene. With Mister Terrific emerging as a huge fan-favorite character, it’s interesting to note he’s one of the two characters who are reportedly getting their own spinoff series.
In a new interview withVariety, Gathegi addressed being signed up for more DCU projects, leading the trade to ask theSupermanstar if he knew what said projects were. While Gathegi confirmed that he has a multi-project contract with DC Studios, the DCU actor shared the following on Mister Terrific’s future:
Edi Gathegi: I know that I have a multi-project deal, but the specifics of that are unknown to me. What James is driving home is the idea that they’re never going to rush into production with scripts that aren’t ready, so even whatever they do have planned for my characters is irrelevant until the draft comes in and it’s shootable. So I don’t count my chickens before they hatch. I want to be involved in this universe in a major way, and whether or not that comes to fruition is just a matter of time and faith and other people’s hard work.
What Edi Gathegi’s DC Universe Comments Mean For Mr. Terrific
At the time of this story’s publication,DC Studios and Gunn have yet to confirm or deny if aMister Terrificspinoff show is actually happening. While Gathegi may not have addressed hisSupermanspinoff, it wouldn’t be shocking if a Mister Terrific show is part of that multi-project deal, but he just can’t formally reveal anything yet until DC Studios and Gunn make it official to the public.
While there may not be any directSupermanmovie Easter eggsto directly set up a hypothetical spinoff,Mister Terrific had enough depth in this story that there are many directions they could take with him in his own series. With Michael’s DC history, which also includes the Terrifics team, aSupermanspinoff show can expand his place in the DCU franchise.

Hopefully, the reports about Mister Terrific getting his ownSupermanspinoff will end up being true, as this is a character who the DCU absolutely needs to explore more of after his 2025 debut in the franchise.
