Last month,Twitchstreamer BrookeAB announced she was taking a break from the game streaming site after receiving multiple threats. She broke her silence on social media on August 2 to explain why she decided to take a hiatus.

The 21-year-old streamer only began her career onTwitchlast year, but quickly gained popularity and income which encouraged her to take it on as a full-time job. Unfortunately, her success in streaming brought on some consequences thatpushed her to take some time off Twitchand social media.

Comparably, with similar concerns for the protection of personal information, Twitch streamer Pokimane recently shared in an OfflineTV Podcast that she doesn’t like viewers calling her by her real name. The fact that her viewers are technically strangers makes it feel invasive and uncomfortable for Pokimane. She recently opened up about howbeing an influencer in LA can be exhaustingdue to the amount of superficial, social media obsessed crowds that could be disturbing for her personal life, much like how it is panning out for BrookeAB.

Correspondingly, after BrookeAB’s incident took place, she has advised her followers to take time away from social media and devices to spend more time bonding with loved ones. She also added that she will eventually reveal and confirm what went down “when the time is right” so that they too can grow with her to build a healthy and supportive community together.

BrookeAB ended her message with some good news, sharing that she will be back to streaming soon and is looking forward to doing so. She also took this time to ask her fans to aid themselves and those whom they know who are dealing withmental health issues to seek helpfrom trusted sources.
