Even ifStraydid not release as a day one PS Plus title, many fans would likely still be head over heels with the latest cat game. Even average household cats seem to be enjoying the game, with how viral it has gone online. Fans have been sharing images ofStray,their cats reacting toStray, and more over the past couple of days.
Strayis a short and sweet experience that many cat lovers will enjoy, but one thing nearly everyStrayreviewhas pointed out is how tightly packed its environment is. It seems BlueTwelve Studio has an eye for detail, and it also seems the developers there must beSkyrimfans. The latter is one of few games to have an impact last 10+ years, and that’s obvious with two Easter eggs inStray.

Redditor meatomato recently shared on Reddit (and originally found by Gamesradar+) twoSkyrimEaster eggs they’ve found. Both of these are stylized references byStraycharacters that clearly come fromSkyrim. One of these lines is uttered by the robot Jenkins, who can be found in the Antville section by riding a bucket down to where Jenkins is gardening with another robot. It states “Some may call this junk. Me, I call them treasures.” This is a clear note to Belethor’s General Goods, a line that fans will have heard plenty of times.
The Redditor would then share a second discovery a little later, which is uttered by Sojiro down in Midtown. This line comes from perhaps the most iconic piece of dialogue inSkyrim, the beloved arrow to the kneethat gets stated by guards. InStray, Sojiro will state: “I used to own a bar. It was the coziest place. Until I took a screwdriver in the knee, and it’s closed now.” If a piece of dialogue fromSkyrimis going to be used as an Easter egg in the game, this is the one.
Even without these Easter eggs,Strayhas endeared itself to many gaming fans around the world—much like a tabby cat could. It also stands to reason that players will continue to find a few Easter eggs and other secrets scattered around. It might not take aslong to beatStrayas some other popular games out there, but its replayability seems just fine and could enable future discoveries.
