Noah Schnapp:People are going to be truly devastated. As sad as it was, I’m so excited to see the world’s reaction to watching the finale because there’s not going to be a dry eye, it’s going to be sad. Not to be so negative, it is a really great season and people will love it.

Ross Duffer:It’s the end of a long journey, for everyone who made the show and also for those characters. It is thrilling and it’s our fastest start we’ve ever had — our heroes are in action right away, but I think ultimately, hopefully, it’s our most emotional season yet. Those final episodes, the goal is that they hit pretty hard because in a lot of ways it’s about the end of this journey we’ve all had and also the end of childhood.

What Schnapp & Duffer’s Statements Mean For Stranger Things Season 5

Some Heartbreaking Events Could Happen In The Final Episodes

The majorcharacters inStranger Thingsare up against the most difficult battle of their lives, as Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) has opened a rift between Hawkins and the Upside Down. Stopping him won’t be easy, but Will’s connection to the other dimension means he’ll be vital to how the group faces their final enemy. Based on Schnapp’s statement, though,it doesn’t sound like it will result in a happy ending for everyone, teasing the events are going to be highly emotional for those heavily invested in the show.

Duffer’s addition furthers this idea, especially by confirming the final episodes will start with the story already making major strides. It’s not confirmed that any characters are going to meet tragic ends, however, meaning some of the emotion will likely come from this being their final adventure together. However, theend ofStranger Thingsseason 4established just how much of a threat Vecna is to the entire world, emphasizing the probability that some beloved faces might not make it out of this final battle alive.
