An all-new trailer has released for Insomniac Games’Spider-Man, showing some behind-the-scenes footage of the development team creating the superhero game that fans have been waiting for. Alongside new gameplay footage and some intriguing developer commentary, one new image might be our first clear look at Wilson Fisk himself - AKA The Kingpin.
It’s just one shot among many but the gun-wielding crimelord is fighting in a setting that looks extravagant enough to be the Kingpin’s lair. Insomniac Games has confirmed that Wilson Fisk will be making an appearance in-game, but this might be our first chance to see the fan-favorite in action asSpider-Mantakes on the crime boss in a flashy and destructible environment.
The trailer also reveals the incredible effort that the developer is putting into making thisSpider-Mangame one to remember. The team clearly has a passion for their project, which seems to really come through in the footage that we’ve seen so far, but means that thegame’s release dateis still far off.
“The greatest thing about working on aSpider-Mangame is that you’re working on aSpider-Mangame,” claims Jon Paquette, Lead Writer of the upcoming title. “The hardest thing is that it’s aSpider-Mangame.”
It seems that Peter Parker’s double life will be catching up to him in Insomniac’s game, as Art Director Jacinda Chew reveals that the colliding of the two worlds will allow for a more ‘human’ story than we see in most superhero games. In the PS4-exclusive title, Peter has beenSpider-Manfor 8 years so it’ll be interesting to see how a more experienced web-slinger faces up to the challenge of thevillainous Mr. Negative.
Whether or not the image from the trailer features Fisk, the inside look intoSpider-Man’s development process is certainly worth a watch and is sure to raise fan hype levels for the upcoming game. Right now all we can do is wait patiently to hear more from the next Insomniac Games developer log.
