The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimseems to be the gift that keeps on giving, with new details coming out about the game some 7 years after it released. It helps that Bethesda continues tore-release (or port) the game on every platformunder the sun, and in turn keeps the game in the conversation and the public eye.

Just this week, Bethesda artist Jonah Lobe shared a fun little detail about his efforts inSkyrim, specifically with regards to the giants in the game. As Lobe explained in a Tweet, the giants were designed after his father.

Lobe made it a bit morbid by asking fans to retweet the Tweet if they had if they had killed his dad, but it was all in good fun. He even shared an image of his dad from when Lobe was a kid, so fans can compare the lumbering brutes fromSkyrimwith their real life inspiration.

Even if they never defeated a giant, mostSkyrimplayers should be plenty familiar with Lobe’s work, as he was also responsible for the design of the dragons in the game. No they aren’t based on anything from Lobe’s life, butSkyrim’s dragons are easily one of its most iconic elements, so much so that modders would reskin them with funny veneers likeThomas the Tank Engineand Macho Man Randy Savage.

While it has become a joke in recent months,Skyrim’s popularity has allowed it to expand past its release platforms and make it to almost every home console on the market. Just last year,Skyrimreleased for Switch with new a new control scheme and specialadd-ons forLegend of Zeldafans.

However, Switch seems like the logical endpoint for Skyrim and eventually, Bethesda Game Studios will turn its attention toElder Scrolls 6. But that isn’t bound to happen as soon as some fans hope since Bethesda Game Studios has at leasttwo triple-A titles to release before the nextElder Scrollsgame.

At any rate, hopefully Lobe gets an opportunity to lend his talents to the nextElder Scrollsgame. Perhaps he can sneak some other family members into the design of the game.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available on every video game console you may possibly imagine.
