Silent Hill fnow has a release date after a new trailer debuting at the June 4 PlayStation State of Play.Silent Hill fwas first announced in 2022, alongside several otherSilent Hillprojects that have met with varying degrees of success. The interactive seriesSilent Hill Ascensionwas largely a failure, while theSilent Hill 2remake release to critical and commercial success.Silent Hill fwas somewhat of an outlier among these, being the only original console game to be announced. Further information about its story and gameplay was later revealed during aSilent Hill Transmission in March.

As of today, we know thatSilent Hill fwill be released on July 02, 2025, just a few short months from this reveal at the PlayStation State of Play. What The New Trailer Reveals For Silent Hill F

Creepy Creatures Galore

The new trailer represents a pretty big reveal forSilent Hill f. It opens with the protagonist, Shimizu, calling out to another character on the balcony of a nearby house. As she walks away, she hears a voice calling her a traitor, and her friend disappears from the balcony. ClearlyShimizu’s guilt over some betrayal- real or imaginary - will be a central theme of the story here. In narration, Shimizu talks about much of what we already know about the plot: that most of the town has disappeared, and all that remains is a strange fog and some terrifying monsters.

Then, we get to the meat of the trailer:the monster reveals. First, we see a sort of mannequin-type monster with a twisted body, who gradually lurches towards Shimizu in a narrow alley. We’ve seen this monster in previous trailers, but here, she’s used for a bit of a combat reveal, as we watch Shimizu swing a lead pipe at her in various settings. Briefly, a larger, more rotund monster is seen grabbing Shimizu with a long, clawed appendage.

Shimizu then traverses some fog-shrouded halls, where her classmates lie in twisted poses. When she passes by, some of them leap out at her from around corners. Finally, on a bridge, we seewhat can only be a boss reveal: Shimizu encounters an apparently familiar face Sakuko, hunched over and turned away from her. When she turns around, we see Sakuko’s mouth has been torn open in a mess of viscera. She roars, we hear Shimizu being called a traitor again, and the trailer ends.

It’s not a long trailer, but it is a fairly revealing one. By far the most exciting aspect of it, though, is the reveal of the release date.September 25 is a lot closer than I expected to seeSilent Hill f, and based on what I’ve seen so far, it can’t come soon enough.

Silent Hill F Looks Incredible So Far

Silent Hill Needs An Original Entry

All the trailers thus far have been understated, butSilent Hill fstill looks pretty amazing. WhileI enjoyed theSilent Hill 2remakewell enough, as soon as I finished it, my first thought was, “okay, what’s next?” Remakes are all well and good, but I hoped this one was just a proof of concept for Konami, a lead-in to a widerSilent Hillrevival with some new original games.

As it turns out, I was right.Silent Hill fis the first original, full-length game in the series in over a decade, andI can’t wait for it to come out. It looks like it’s taken a totally different direction from previous games in the series, with manycomparing it favorably toFatal Frame. Frankly, though, at this point, I’m grateful for any chance to inject some originality into the long-dormant franchise. Here’s hopingSilent Hill flives up to the hype.
