From Software games are notorious for defying expectations in video games, often challenging the typical ways characters level up or complete basic tasks.Sekiro: Shadows Die Twiceis no different, and the slightly different way that it has the main character Wolf sprint has been confusing some players.
To sprint inSekiro: Shadows Die Twice, players don’t click in the left analog stick like they would in basically every other video game in the last 20 years. On the contrary, they have to hold in the Circle button (PS4) or B button (Xbox) while moving to make Wolf sprint. The game doesn’t necessarily lay it out for players how to sprint inSekiro, but knowing how to sprint will make the ultra-hard game at least a little bit easier.
Sprinting inSekirocan be used to quickly run by enemies, or even flee from foes in the middle of battle. If players are fighting theShinobi Hunter, for instance, and things are starting to look bad for Wolf, they can turn around and sprint away from the fight to regroup. However, there are more uses for sprinting inSekirothat can be expanded on by purchasing skills in the game.
When playersuse skill points inSekiro, they can purchase some abilities in the Shinobi Arts skill tree that are tied directly to sprinting. There is one, for example, that lets players slide at the end of their sprint, which can be hugely helpful when avoiding enemy attacks and the like. Throwing in a sprint/slide combo while also jumping around to avoid an enemy attack will make it much harder for foes to land any hits on Wolf, and may even open up some opportunities for the player to get in some strikes of their own.
Sprinting is something that comes natural for gamers in most video games, butSekiro: Shadows Die Twicemakes it a little bit more complicated by assigning it to a different button. Once players figure that out, though, they will be able to add sprinting to their skill set and improve their performance in the game.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twiceis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
