Red Dead Redemption 2has been a real treat for many PS4 and Xbox One players since its release this October. However, PC players have been left to watch from afar as their console-playing peers have all the fun. Now, it seems there’s a small, yet encouraging, glimmer of hope for those hopefulRockstar Gameswill port the western-themed adventure game to PC in the future.

Rumored footage ofRed Dead Redemption 2on PC was uploaded to YouTube recently, showing a convincing exploration of the Settings menu on PC. The brief, 25-second video shows the user open the Settings menu, navigate through some of the options, and even adjust display settings. The menu displays typical PC settings options like VSync, FXAA, and Resolution, adding authenticity to the otherwise questionable video. The video was quickly removed from YouTube, but not before it was captured and preserved for the public to see.

The footage isn’t ripped directly from the game, but instead shows the computer screen being recorded on a camera, which makes parsing details and finding inconsistencies tricky. The font, menu designs, and brief moments ofgameplay footageappear consistent withRed Dead Redemption 2’s console versions, but the perspective and video quality make confirming its authenticity more than challenging.

Even if the footage turns out to be fake, there is still hope for PC players wanting to try outRed Dead Redemption 2. Recently,a listing forRDR2on PCappeared on a European electronics retailer’s website with an unofficial July 02, 2025 release date. While this has been chalked up as a placeholder date, the fact that the retailer listed the product in the first place is a sign that PC players may not have to wait long to join in on the fun.

Perhaps the most convincing evidence thatRed Dead Redemption 2will eventually come to PC came by way of a Rockstardeveloper’s resume on LinkedIn. Included in the programmer’s experience is “Red Dead Redemption 2- PS4/XBox1/PC,” which seems to suggest the project is already well underway. Should this be the case, then a 2019 launch on PC would make for a very realistic release window on the platform.

Red Dead Redemption 2is available on PS4 and Xbox One.
