The photo shows that Xbox One owners can look forward to downloadingRyse: Son of Romeas well asLichdom: Battlemagefor free next month. For the unaware,Rysewas one of the Xbox One’s launch titles, and while it was praised for its high quality graphics, it was criticized for its linear gameplay.Lichdom: Battlemage, meanwhile, is a first-person fantasy action game that released just a couple of months ago to mixed reviews.
Having said that, it looks like Xbox 360 owners are getting the better deal in June, as it appears as though the free games for that platform will be the critically acclaimedRed Dead RedemptionandBioShock Infinite. Of course, if the leak is accurate, Xbox One owners will also be able to downloadRed Dead RedemptionandBioShock Infinitefor free, thanks to theXbox One’s backward compatibility with Xbox 360 games.
Now, there’s some things to analyze when it comes to this leak. For one, ifRed Dead Redemptiontruly is one of the free Xbox 360 games for June, then it would be the first Rockstar Games title added to the service. SinceBCRed Dead Redemptionhas been tested in the past, its addition to the list of Xbox 360 games playable on Xbox One wouldn’t come as that big of a surprise, despite Rockstar’s reluctance to add its games to the backward compatibility list.
However, ifRed Dead Redemptionis indeed coming to the service, then it would seem as though the rumors of a remastered version ofRed Dead Redemptionaren’t true. While that may disappoint some fans, the timing of havingRed Dead Redemptionadded to the service in June is interesting, asRed Dead Redemption 2is rumored to be revealed at E3 2016- an event set to take place next month as well.
