Fans all around the world were stunned when Sony revealed it would be postponing itsPS5reveal event, giving no new date or indication of when it would actually take place. The reason behind the rescheduling was pretty obvious, as Sony claims it wanted to “let more important voices be heard.”
This is no doubt in reference to the protests which are currently taking place in the United States. Many support Sony’s decision but still wonder when thePS5reveal will take place now.

While there has still been no official word from Sony regarding when thePS5 reveal eventwill take place, one leaker on 4chan claims to know the exact date it will be rescheduled to. If this person is to be believed, the event will take place on June 12th, just 8 days after it was scheduled to originally.
There is a lot to unpack about this supposed leak. For starters, the leaker of course gives no proof, simply stating that they “obtained this information through a source in close contact with the Sony Playstation marketing department.” What’s more, theinformation comes from a 4chan thread, a site which isn’t exactly known for being a great place to get accurate news. Without more information it is difficult to say whether fans should put any stock in this claim, but at the moment it is all there is to go off.
It would also seem strange for Sony to hold back its statement so that protesters can be heard only to proceed to make the statement a week later. Though manyviewed the postponement as a thoughtful move, many question how long Sony is willing to hold onto this information for? It is unlikely that protests will have stopped by the 12th, so it is unclear what Sony’s plan is if this leak is true.
Ultimately, there is simply no way to know whether this is true. If it is, Sony will no doubt make an announcement in the next week or so, as it would be unlike it to spring ahuge gameplay revealon fans. Until such an announcement comes, gamers will need to be patient.
