A new rumor has surfaced online that Bungie is beginning work onDestiny3. However, there has been no official confirmation, as this is tinfoil hat territory and should be treated as such, but the details that surfaced alongside this rumor are intriguing to say the least.
All of this information is provided by the well-known and respected Reddit Insider, AnonTheNine. He went on to reveal that Chris Barrett is the game director, though Luke Smith will still have a big role. According to this user,Destiny3will be much more geared toward hardcore fans and have plenty of features that haven’t appeared in previous games. One of these is a playable location, Europa, that was first teased all the way back in 2013.
Moreover,Destiny 3is supposed to have even more RPG elements in contrast with vanillaDestiny 2.More specifically, it appears that Guardians will be able to use the Darkness in some ways, though further details were not provided. The last big reveal was that there would be open world areas with PvP and PvE content where players can fight to conquer territory.
AnonTheNine also revealed there would be anew annual passin 2019, which isn’t that surprising. But it is worth noting that players can likely expect moreDestiny 2DLC through 2019, with the rumoredDestiny 3set to launch sometime around 2020. Regardless, it’s worth adding that this could be around the time that next-gen consoles launch, so it wouldn’t be surprising ifD3was actually a next-gen launch title.
Whatever the case may be when it comes toDestiny 3’s development, players should take this information with a healthy grain of salt. Nevertheless, many would likely be excited to see this rumor come to fruition.
