On Reddit, a user named GriftyGamerGuy posted their latest work on the r/Xbox subreddit. Known for his previouswork on controllers modeled afterThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, GriftyGamerGuy posted a picture of a custom-made Xbox wireless controller, with different shades of red being the main color palette of choice for hisResident Evil 4controller. With the face buttons, control sticks, D-Pad, and middle buttons remaining the same as a base Xbox controller, GriftyGamerGuy replaced the front faceplate with his handiwork. In the center of the controller, the insignia of Los Iluminados, the cult behind the events ofResident Evil 4, is outlined in a lighter shade of red.
Appearing on the left-hand grip is a silhouette of a mysterious figurewielding a chainsaw, which is a direct reference to the fan-favorite European box art of the originalResident Evil 4.Finally, the right-hand grip is adorned with the number 4 logo from the game’s cover. GriftyGamerGuy’s post received nearly 700 upvotes on r/Xbox in just over a day.Resident Evilfans praised GriftyGamerGuy for his work, and asked what materials he used to finish the project. In a follow-up comment, GriftyGamerGuy stated that he used 2K acrylic urethane to seal it before installing it back onto the controller.
