Recently, it seemed as ifRed Dead Redemption 2developer Rockstar Games had been tease some newUndead NightmareeventforRed Dead Online. This is because of an increased number of dead bodies inRed Dead Online’s swamp, as well as one woman found there who looks to be a zombie. With Halloween coming up, it seemed like a real possibility.

Yet, in a recent interview, Rockstar Games practically dashed the hope of a Halloween-themedUndead Nightmareevent forRed Dead Onlinealongside the possibility of single-player DLC forRDR2.Neither are currently in the works at Rockstar, but the developer didn’t rule it out as an eventual possibility either. It’s worth mentioning, though, that Rockstar was reluctant to confirm the absence of single-player DLC forGrand Theft Auto 5, so it’s not a surprise to see this happening withRed Dead Redemption 2.

“It’s not something that we’re focused on right now,” were the exact words from online producer Tarek Hamad. He then elaborated on howFrontier Pursuitsis currently the main focus, but that “never say never” was a philisophy for the studio, so “[they’ll see have to see where the future goes.” As a result, the fun Easter eggs and hints thatRed Dead Redemption 2fans think they found are just that and nothing more.

It may also be worth mentioning that, while Rockstar Games addressed two of the biggest rumors forRed Dead Redemption 2, there’s a third it did not. There’s no telling if it was intentional or not, but Rockstar Games did not comment on a potentialRDR2PC port, unlike it did with single player DLC andUndead Nightmares.

In short, Rockstar is currently focused on expanding the world ofRed Dead Online, choosing to forego any Single-player DLC for it, but also choosing not to include any zombie,Undead Nightmare-like events for Halloween. That’s not to say there won’t be something for Halloween, as Rockstar prided itself on what it’s done in the past, butUndead Nightmaresisn’t going to be it forRed Dead Redemption 2.

Red Dead Redemption 2is available now for PS4 and Xbox One.
