Today, Sony revealed theRed Dead Redemption 2PlayStation 4 Pro bundle, the latest combination package featuring Sony’s more powerful console iteration. TheRed Dead Redemption 2PS4 Pro bundle will feature a 1TB Jet Black PS4 Pro SKU and a standard DualShock 4 wireless controller, as well as a copy ofRed Dead Redemption 2on disc. The bundle will retail for $399.99 in North America with pre-orders beginning today and will launch alongsideRed Dead Redemption 2on October 26.
Note that theRed Dead Redemption 2PlayStation 4 Probundle is not a special edition bundle. Both the PS4 Pro itself and its controller are standard and don’t feature anyRed Dead Redemption 2detailing. The copy ofRed Dead Redemption 2will be the standard edition of the game, as well. The benefit of the bundle is in the pricing. The PS4 Pro retails for $399.99, so this bundle effectively provides a copy ofRed Dead Redemption 2for free with the purchase of a PS4 Pro at full price.
The PS4 Pro has historically been discounted well below its retail price of $399.99, even going on sale as low as $320 this spring. However, the PS4 Pro has been increasingly difficult to find on store shelves as supplies have dried up. This year’s bundles may be the best opportunity to purchase a PlayStation 4 Pro before Sony starts revealing details about its next major console release.
Potential PS4 Pro buyers shouldn’t stress too much over Sony’s next console, though. Most evidence points towards Sony’snext console launching in 2020or even beyond. That means that the PS4 Pro is likely the best console to play currently available exclusive games includingUncharted 4,God of War, andSpider-Man, as well as pending releases likeThe Last of Us 2andDays Gone.
