After a newgameplay trailerfor Rockstar’sRed Dead Redemption 2was revealed earlier this week, it became clear that the game will feature a vast landscape that will contain a “range of America’s heartland and frontier” areas from the late 1800s. In a new video from PlayStation Access, which is the official PlayStation UK YouTube channel, it was confirmed that theRed Dead Redemption 2map is not only very big, but that it might in fact even be Rockstar’s biggest game map to date.
As the video below points out, the game world inRed Dead Redemption 2is not only the largest that Rockstar has made in terms of size, but due to the fact that one travels on horse-back for the entire game since it plays off in the 1800s, the game world feels even bigger. In other Rockstar games that also feature large maps, such asGrand Theft Auto, one has the option to travel by car or by plane, but despite these fast modes of transport, one still takes a very long time to travel from one end of the map to the other. With this in mind, one can already begin to imagine the amount of playtime thatRed Dead Redemption 2will offer in terms of the game’s size.
Because the game world is so big, and because some items, such as treasure stashes, will be harder to find inRed Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar has been offering an in-game treasure map with all the locations of the loot stashes. Unfortunately, in order to gain access to the treasure map, fans would have had to pre-order theRed Dead Redemption 2Collector’s Editionbefore August 15th.
From what Rockstar has revealed of the game so far, it is not surprising that game analysts have predictedRed Dead Redemption 2to be one of thebest selling games of 2018,and that some even claim thatRed Dead Redemption 2will redefine the video game industry. The vastness of the game’s map is just one thing that has us excited for the release of the game, which is now only a couple of months away.
Red Dead Redemption 2is scheduled to launch on June 07, 2025 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
