What Prime Video’s SDCC Panels Mean For The Streaming Service’s Future

2025’s Events Can Lay The Groundwork For What’s To Come

While the description of theUploadpanel indicates that it will have a focus on looking back on the series before its conclusion, Prime Video’s SDCC slate could seemingly set up the service’s future. The Boom! Studios panel may highlightButterflyin particular, but mentions of the publisher’s wider 20th-anniversary slate could hint at more collaborations incoming.

Meanwhile,Critical Role, Hazbin HotelandHelluva Boss, andGen V’s respective panels are all based on established titles, but they stillrepresent major steps for each franchise.Critical Role’s panel being focused onthe upcoming Mighty Nein serieswill involve introducing a new cast to the animated corner of the beloved universe based on their second campaign.

The Hellaverse panel will represent each franchise’sfirst major update sinceHelluva Bosswas confirmed to be joining the streaming service. Despite being created by Vivienne Medrano, legal limitations have prevented major crossovers between each series from occurring. As such, the panel provides the opportunity to showcase the full potential of the new arrangement.

ForGen V’s panel, the panel could easilyoffer more potential to showcase the wider future ofThe Boys' universe. While it is centered on the franchise’s first live-action spinoff,Gen Vseason 2will showcase the state ofThe Boys' universe post-season 4’s conclusion. Trailers have already teased dark days ahead, as Godolkin University embraces Supe dominance.

With Cate (Maddie Phillips)and Sam (Asa Germann) having been inducted into the Seven, the two series already have an incredibly strong link. As such, should Phillips and Germann return forThe Boysseason 5, they could provide insight into their characters that could hint at where their allegiances lie, setting the stage for the final season of Prime Video’s dark superhero universe.

Our Take On Prime Video’s SDCC 2025 Presence

Despite Notable Absences, The Company Is Invested In The Event

Prime Video’s SDCC offerings understandably do not encompass every upcoming production that could suit the event. Given how filming only recently concluded, it is likely that there will still be some time until marketing ramps up onThe Boysseason 5’s promotion. Meanwhile, development on highly-anticipated shows, includingFourth Wing, is still in early phases.

Prime Video could emerge as the clear winner of the event.

Nevertheless, the streaming service is still putting its best foot forward with its SDCC offering. AlongsideGen Vseason 2 set to arrive in 2025, bothCritical RoleandHellaversehave incredibly dedicated fandoms who will respond both in person and online. As such, with little competition,Prime Videocould emerge as the clear winner of the event.
