Gideon wins over many of his friends, with Pontius being shocked about his brother’s talents.
However, Pontius shouldn’t be surprised by Gideon’s skateboarding skills. Before Gideon’s return inThe Righteous Gemstonesseason 4,he was in Hollywood, with him acting as a stuntman in movies. Gideon has demonstrated his athletic and vehicular abilities throughout the show, and being a prolific skateboarder isn’t out of character for him.

Pontius is constantly belittling Gideon anddisrespecting Gemstone Ministries. Gideon has made it his mission to get Gideon to calm down, but he hasn’t made much ground.
Pontius' treatment of Gideon is likely an indicator of his views of the Gemstone family as a whole. The scandals that Jesse and the rest of the family have been involved in have brought a lot of negative attention to the family, and Pontius could be wanting to separate himself from that. However, Pontius has definitely overcorrected, with him repeating Gideon’s prodigal son story inThe Righteous Gemstonesseason 4.
