We are still awhile away beforePokemon SwordandShieldare released, so in the meantime, fans have been contributing theories and art to express their interests in the next entry in the popular series. This includesDetective Pikachuartist RJ Palmer, who used his talents to design realistic-looking versions of the new starter Pokemon.
Nintendo hasn’t given audiences the full scoop on what to expect inPokemon SwordandShield, but we do have solid looks at the game’s starter Pokemon: Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble. Like previous games in the series, the starter Pokemon will be the first that players will encounter, and the one they choose will be with them throughout their journey.
Palmer took the original, cartoonish designs of these critters and altered them to look they way they might appear in the real world. The attention to detail is impressive and worthy of closer examination.
Palmer has made a name for himself by making realistic version of various Pokemon, so it is nice to see him working his magic on some of the newest in the series. Once the evolutions of these Pokemon are revealed, maybe Palmer will do the same for them.
There is a slight chance that those evolutions have already been released to the publicroughout the community. However, when another trio of leaks were released shortly after these, it became less likely that either were real. Until Nintendo officially pulls back the curtain on theSwordandShieldstarter evolutions, it is best to take these “leaks” with a prematurely, however. These supposedleaks of the new starter Pokemonwere posted to 4chan and their legitimacy has been discussed thgrain of salt.
What audiences and fans know for sure are the variety of Pokemon confirmed forSwordandShieldthrough various media, such as gameplay footage and official announcements. We cobbled together alist of confirmed Pokemonwhat we’ve seen so far. The list is short, but anyone curious as to which Pokemon they will encounter in the game, it is worth a gander.
