ThePokemon GO2020 Halloween event kicks off this weekfeaturing costumed variants of Gengar and Sableye, as well as Galarian Yamask; meanwhile a tie-in partnership with telecommunications company Verizon is starting today. At the same time, Niantic put out a blog post detailing updated egg hatching pools across multiple categories.
Hatching Pokemon out of eggs has been a staple of the franchise sincePokemon GoldandSilverin 1999, and carrying eggs that hatch after a certain distance covered has likewise been a part ofPokemon GO’s design since 2016. The kinds of Pokemon that can be received from eggs has varied, typically to coincide with certain events, but today’s adjustment affects the general hatching pool, with the in-universe explanation being seasonal change.
