Pokemon GO Players Aren't Happy About the November Field Research Breakthrough Reward

Once upon a time, Field Research Breakthroughs inPokemon GOmeant a guaranteed Legendary encounter. When the system originally rolled out, it offers players who weren’t completing Battle Raids, or who had gotten very unlucky in their raiding, someguaranteed encounters with Legendary Pokemonwho had already been released in the game. Over the last year or so, the reward system has changed quite a bit.

At this point,Pokemon GOhas moved away from the Legendary Research Breakthroughs and instead usually offers a regular Pokemon as the reward, along with some extra Candy associated with the featured Pokemon. The non-Legendary rewards caused a bit of drama in the community when the change originally arrived and, at this point, the fan reactions each month vary depending on the featured creature. ForNovember’s offering, Vullaby, some players are taking to social media to share their disappointment.

Vullaby is a Gen 5 Dark/Flying-type Pokemon and its evolution line isn’t going to make too much of a splash on thePoGOPvP or PvE metagame at this point. Much of the drama surrounding this selection comes from the fact that players have already had plenty of chances tohatch Vullaby from their 12km Eggsin recent months.

That said, the sentiment isn’t universal in the community. Some players, especially those who don’tspend real world money on Incubatorsare still in need of Vullaby and its Candy. Will four encounters be enough to give them what they need? That is going to vary from player to player.
