After about a few weeks ofbattling Latios in Legendary Battle Raids, westernPokemon GOplayers are about to start encountering Latias instead. Players in other regions have already spent weeks battling Latias and, in general, the consensus seems to be that the female dragon is a bit tougher to take down than the male.

Players from Hong Kong and other regions whohave been battling Latiasduring the end of April and beginning of May predict that the creature is going to give players a bit of a surprise for the first few raids. The creature apparently has a higher defense than Latios, which means that it will take a bigger group ofPokemon GOtrainers to defeat than Latios.

Pokemon GO raid week boss list

The players reported that Latias raids require similar numbers to Ho-Oh, Groudon, or Kyogre. That’s definitely a little tougher than we’ve gotten used to with Latios. According to one player from Hong Kong…

“Latios takes a minimum of 2 people to beat with multiple rejoins, Latias takes 3. With 7 or 8 people, it might take one or 2 rejoins to beat it.”

In addition to the extra defense, there are some other differences to consider, as well. Latias' dragon move is Outrage, not Dragon Claw, which means Dragon-types are in big trouble for this fight. Going head to head with Latios with a team of Dragonites and Rayquaza may have been smart, but we recommend assembling a team of Ttars for this fight.

In terms of catching Latias after the battle, players report that the circle is smaller and it’s much harder to score an Excellent throw. Keep in mind that this pokemon isn’t actually as far away as it looks. Latias is the same distance away as Latios, but the smaller model can be deceiving.
