Earlier this week, Niantic confirmed the specialIncense Day eventforPokemon GO, which stands as just the latest way that the developer is adjusting its augmented reality game to function properly in a world of social distancing and self-isolation. Already live in some parts of the world, Incense Day allows players to attract high quality and rare Pokemon to their location using the Incense item.
As part of thePokemon GOIncense Day event, players are given the opportunity to purchase a bundle from the store that costs just a single Pokecoin and comes with three Incense. Since players are able to amass 50 Pokecoins a day by holding gyms, one Pokecoin shouldn’t be too hard to come by, and mostPokemon GOplayers likely have one already.

During Incense Day, using anIncense item inPokemon GOwill cause Pokemon of a specific type to spawn near players for one hour. Players who want to participate in each hour of the event will need at least six Incense items, but those who are just going for specific types of Pokemon will want to be strategic about when they use their Incense.
Here are thePokemon GOIncense spawn times and the types of Pokemon that will spawn in each hour. Please note that all times are local time, so no need to stress about time zones or anything like that.
It’s unclear if more Pokemon of the type listed in each hour will spawn, or just the ones thatNianticspecifically pointed out. Regardless, thePokemon GOIncense Day event should provide a unique opportunity for Pokemon trainers the world over to better complete their Pokedex and add some relatively rare Pokemon to their roster.
If thePokemon GOIncense Day event is popular, one has to imagine that Niantic will host similar events in future. In the meantime, fans can look forward to theAbra Community Daynext weekend on April 25.
