It’s almost time for what manyPokemon GOplayers are calling the most important Community Day event yet. This weekendPokemon GOplayers will have three hours to catch as many Larvitar as possible and expand their collection of the most meta-relevant pokemon out there: Tyranitar.
The basic idea ofCommunity Dayis pretty simple: Go out and catch a ton of pokemon for three hours. For players who need a little more direction than that, we’ve put together a comprehensive guide full of all the intel you need for the big day.
Saturday, June 16th
Start and End Times
Europe, Middle East, Africa, India: 10am to 1pm UK or BST, 11am to 2pm CET
North America, South America and Greenland: 11am to 2pm PST, 2pm to 5pm EST
Asia Pacific: 12pm to 3pm JST
Special Move
Tyranitar’sExclusive Move is the Fast Move Smack Down. ensure to evolve during the active time window if you want to secure it.
Players will receive 3x Bonus Catch XP during the event.
Limited Time Field Research
Recent updates to the game’s code suggest that this Community Day, like last month’s, will temporarily offer special Field Research tasks that put an emphasis on the featured pokemon. Be sure to claim your rewards and clear out a space for these quests if you want to see them.
Shiny Variant
Niantic usually doesn’t confirm the shiny chance until after the event has started, but keep an eye out for a shiny while hunting. They’ve been a part of every other Community Day event, so we fully expect to see them on Saturday.
