Pokemon GO’slatest Raid rotations andLunar New Year eventhave brought some interesting new challenges to the battle raiding scene. Players are once again able to encounter Gyarados in level four raids, which means it’s time to power up a team of counters and start raiding for the powerful water-type.
Gyarados is a very popular creature from Gen 1, so it’s no surprise thatPokemon GOfans get excited every time there’s an opportunity to catch the creature. It takes a ton of candy toevolve a Magikarp into a Gyaradosthe old fashioned way, so catching an already evolved one from a raid is a great opportunity.
Magikarp and Gyarados both have the chance to be shiny, so keep an eye out for that special red spawn while raiding. It is in-theme with the Lunar New Year focus on red Pokemon, so hopefully there will be an increased shiny encounter chance and some trainers can add a new shiny to their dex this weekend.
Gyarados is a water- and flying-type, which makes it double weak to electric-type Pokemon. That’s good news for players who participate in a lot of Battle Raids, because they will likely already have some of the best counters powered up and equipped with the correct move sets. If not, no worries. There are a few solid roster options, so players should hopefully have one of thesehigh-powered electric-typesto rely on…
Luxray - Spark/Wild Charge
Jolteon - Thunder Shock/Thunderbolt
