To celebrate the newcomers,Pokemon GOis holding a small, in-game event, of sorts. Currently, every time a trainer hatches an egg, the egg will feature a Pokemon from the Hoenn region.

This means players will have better chances of snagging some of those new Generation 3 Pokemon, but there’s no word on how long it will last. This temporary perk was revealed through the officialPokemon GOTwitter, where it was also announced that Super Incubators will be available in the game’s shop until February 1.

The third Generation of Pokemon premiered in theRubyandSapphireversions of the original Pokemon games, but the first of these critters joined the mobile game as part of thePokemon GOHalloween event. As one might expect, they were all ghost-types.

After that, a second wave came as part of the game’s holiday event. In the spirit of the season, all of the new Pokemon were ice and water-types.

Yesterday, Nianticadded 23 new Gen 3 Pokemonto the game, which are mostly made up of Rock and Ground-types. This update brings the total amount of Generation 3 Pokemon to over one hundred, so the added ability to hatch them will be helpful for players trying to complete their collections. Trainers should also keep their eyes out for the shiny version of Aron that was added to the game, as well.

The addition of new Pokemon also came with a new Raid boss.Pokemon GOhas brought in Aggron, a Steel and Rock-type, to challenge players. As of now, Aggron is ranked as the second strongest non-Legendary Raid Boss in the game. To take down this intimidating foe, players will need to have crack team – and possibly a little help from our guide onhow to defeat and catch Aggron.

Pokemon GOis available now for Android and iOS devices.
