Sony updated the PlayStation Blog this morning with news that a new PS5 update will be launching globally tomorrow. Hideaki Nishino, the Senior Vice President of Platform Experience at PlayStation, delivers the write up of the update, listing the multitude of additions it is packing. Starting with PS5 UX enhancements, players will be able to customize what Control Center “more freely,” as well as view and write message directly from the Game Base. For users who haveboth PS4 and PS5 versions of some games, this update will now show them separately in the “Installed” tab, instead of stacking them both within the single game icon.
This is a fairly strong update from Sony, considering how underwhelming previous ones have been. It balances updating current features and options of the console while also introducing new ones, not introducing too much or too little. That said, there is still many morePS5 features that Sony should implement, from boosting the performance (and offerings) of its backwards compatibiltity or more precise playtime tracking. Based on the schedule of thePlayStation 5’s updates, the next one may not be for another month or two, so until then, this update should hold players over.
