Oscar Isaac finally speaks about whether or notMoon Knightseason 2 is happening and the future of hisMarvel Cinematic Universehero. It’s been more than three years sincetheMoon Knightending, as Isaac brought one of Marvel’s most complex superheroes into the MCU franchise, while leaving the door open for a hypothetical season 2 at Marvel Studios and Disney+.
@MarcsBackrecently met Isaac at a convention where they asked the MCU star ifMoon Knightseason 2 is confirmed, sharing how much they would love to see his show continue. However, Isaac unfortunately didn’t have great news to share with the fan. Check out the full exchange between the fan and Isaac in the TikTok video below:
Isaac stated that it’s"not confirmed,“while agreeing with the fellow fan that he also needsMoon Knightseason 2 to happen, saying,“I know, you and me both.“However, Isaac followed up by instead perhaps looking at an MCU movie as a possible route, saying,“We’ll see. Maybe one day, or in a movie we’ll see him [return.]”
What Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight Updates Mean
Marvel Television Has Been Restructured
While there are manyMoon Knightseason 2 storyoptions,Isaac’s show was made prior to the restructuring of Marvel Television, which could be a huge factor in why the series hasn’t been renewed yet. Marvel Television is now focused on greenlighting shows with a more traditional format, meant to last for several seasons, including a focus on quality over quantity in how many TV projects go forward.
That is why severalMCU TV shows that were in development got pausedearlier this year,as Marvel Television is retooling their strategy, while also having Marvel Studios finish The Multiverse Saga with their remaining Phase 6 projects. Isaac’s comments about howMoon Knightseason 2 isn’t confirmed yet could very well be related to Marvel Television slowing things down.
However, the fact that Isaac mentions the prospects of a Moon Knight return through the movies is quite fascinating,as he has yet to appear in the MCU films at this point. Whether Isaac could be hinting at something for Moon Knight in Phase 6 or 7 remains to be seen.
Our Take On Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight Updates
There Are Plenty Of MCU Movie Options For Moon Knight
While time will tell if Isaac and the rest oftheMoon Knightcastwill get a season 2 pick-up after his latest comments, the idea of bringing his hero into the MCU movies may be the more realistic option at this point. WithAvengers: Secret Warsset to wrap up The Multiverse Saga, it wouldn’t be shocking if Moon Knight somehow gets factored into the larger war against Doctor Doom.
Isaac has also previously been vocal about how he would love to seeMoon Knight in the MCUas part of aMidnight Sunsmovie, which would be another compelling option for him, especially alongside other supernatural-based characters. Hopefully, whether it is throughMoon Knightseason 2 or a different MCU project, fans will ideally get to see Isaac back in the franchise sooner rather than later.
