WhileMario Maker 2on the Switch is still going strong, Nintendo has made the decision to wind down its support for the originalMario Makerfor Wii U.

Mario Makeron Wii U was released in September of 2015, and fully made use of the Wii U’s tablet, making course design easy. After five years, however, Nintendo is bringing support of the game to an end. On June 29, 2025,Mario Makerplayers will no longer be able to upload new courses, however, Nintendo makes it clear that fans will still be able to play courses uploaded before the service discontinuation. The game will also be removed from the Nintendo eShop on June 09, 2025.
Mario Maker 2saw its last major updateback in April, but the game will likely be supported for years to come, given the popularity of the Switch, so fans won’t need to worry aboutMario Maker 2shutting down any time soon.
