Warning: Spoilers for One-Punch Man, Chapter 202 (revised)One-Punch Man’s revised version of the Ninja Village arc has seriously diverged from the previous course of events. In fact, it’s looking like this new version of the story has revealed a special power of Saitama’s, which might explain why he’s such a problem to God.
In the original version of the Ninja Village arc, Blast, Flashy Flash, and Speed-o'-Sound Sonic fought against Empty Void, the leader of the Ninja village, who had been possessed by God and gained tremendous power. Things weren’t going well the first time around, butthe redrawn version has been quite different so far. In the last rewritten chapter, Saitama arrived and punched Empty Void, mashing him deep into the ground in a cartoonish manner. It was a hilariously simple defeat for a villain who had caused so much trouble the first time around, but then something very strange occurred.
A Saitama Punch Might Be the Cure for Monsterization
Saitama May Secretly Have the Ability to Interfere With God’s Control
In chapter 202, two monsters emerge from the sky: Byakko and Genbu, a pair of divine beasts belonging to God who are themed after the Four Symbols of Chinese astrology. As Blast leaps into action to deal with one of them, there’s a sudden movement from the pit where Void was lying, as smoke erupts from it.Void then similarly begins attacking the giant beasts, and it’s shown that the mask over his face breaks open, revealing his human appearance again. The Divine Beasts are repelled, and Blast sends them back to where they came from, excited to see his friend’s face for the first time in years.
When the smoke emerges from the pit, there’s a panel where Blast recalls something similar happening to Garou. It seems that after being struck by Saitama, both Garou and Void lost their connection to God, being freed from his control but also losing access to the extra power he had given them. This suggests thatSaitama’s punches may be sufficiently powerful to de-monsterize a humanwho has become a monster, turning them back. Searching for a way to reverse monsterization has been a big background plot for some chapters now, so Saitama being the key is very interesting.
Saitama’s New Power Explains Why God Is Interested In Him
One-Punch Man’s Evil God Fears the Only Being Who Can Stand Against Him
One-Punch Manhas previously seenSaitama referred to as the “Abominable Fist That Turned Against God,“seemingly referencing his tremendous strength. However, if Saitama is really capable of breaking the connection between God and those he has possessed, then that would certainly make his fist “abominable” from God’s perspective. In fact, Saitama may well be the only one who can truly defeat God with such a power. The ability to undo monsterization would absolutely be a game-changer forOne-Punch Man’s struggles, and if that power lies in Saitama, then the underrated hero may well finally get the respect he deserves.
