John Wick: Chapter 5is still a ways away, but excitement for the continuation of this iconic franchise is already building. The filmmakers have revealed a few things about the upcoming sequel that may offer hints as to where the next film is headed. The one confirmed plot detail is thatJohn Wick 5is going to be moving away from the High Table, telling an entirely new story with a brand-new antagonistic force.
However, the specific details are still being kept under wraps. While the only confirmed returning character is John Wick himself, and the filmmakers have made a habit of introducing new supporting characters in each installment, there is a character from the previous film who would be an excellent candidate to usher in this new eraof theJohn Wickfranchise.
Mr. Nobody Would Be A Great Addition To John Wick 5
He Could Help Bring About This New Era Of John Wick
Mr. Nobody was anantagonist introduced inJohn Wick: Chapter 4.He was a bounty hunter who eventually ended up working with the Marquis De Gramontto earn the enormous bounty that had been placed on John’s head by the High Table at the end of the film.
As a bounty hunter, Nobody still filled a similar role to most of the assassins present, but the filmmakers managed to differentiate him enough to keep things interesting.
Nobody was a very interesting character, and one of the big reasons was thathe actually helped John out quite a bit in the earlier stages of the film, killing several assassins who were after him, to allow for the bounty on John’s head to increase before he collected.
Even thoughMr. Nobody didn’t appear inJohn Wick 4all that much, the scenes he was in had a great dynamic because he brought something so different to the franchise. As a bounty hunter, he still filled a similar role to most of the assassins present, but the filmmakers managed to differentiate him enough to keep things interesting.
WhileJohn Wick 5has been rumored sinceChapter 4’s release, it was only officially announced at CinemaCon 2025, with no release date given.
John Wick 5is meant to start a new erafor the franchise, moving away from the High Table storyline, and Mr. Nobody had no direct connection with it. He did work with the Marquis, but their agreement obviously ended when the Marquis died, andMr. Nobody seemingly had no other association with the group.
The assassins ofJohn Wickare all bound to the High Table, but Mr. Nobody presumably isn’t, which would make him a great candidate to help open up the franchise to the wider universe, allowingJohn Wick 5to truly take the series in a brand-new direction, while still bringing back some familiar faces.
