Setting off on another odyssey
The newestOddworldgame launched just earlier this year, and today, developer Oddworld Inhabitants announced it’s getting a new edition.Oddworld: Soulstorm Enhanced Editionwill launch at the end of November with updates and improvements on April’soriginalSoulstorm.
Oddworld: Soulstorm Enhanced Editionwill be coming to PC via Epic Games Store and PlayStation 4 and PS5. It will also bring the game to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It will run $39.99 for the digital version, and there’s no mention of an upgrade for owners who already haveSoulstorm.
TheOddworld: Soulstorm: Enhanced Editioncomes with “improved gameplay mechanics and motion code,” as well aspreviously released updatesforSoulstorm. According to a press release sent out today, there will also be new content in theEnhanced Editionas well.
Oddworld: Soulstormlaunched in April earlier this year. It garneredsome solid acclaim, and as Chris wrote at the time, there are cobwebs that could get shaken out. That said, it’s also really the only game of its kind around.Oddworld‘s mix of platformer and puzzle, alongside its unique aesthetic, really are a vibe all their own.
As for theEnhanced Edition, it seems like a good thing for Xbox players who have been waiting to jump into this strange world. No word on an official date yet, but it is currently expected to arrive sometime near the end of November.
