Super Smash Bros Ultimateis the hot-ticket item for Nintendo’s E3 2018 press conference this year. During the Nintendo E3 Direct, Nintendo showed off a ton of brand-new information for the upcoming addition to the Smash franchise. Nintendo also announced thatSuper Smash Bros Ultimatewill be launching at the end of this year.

The trailer forSuper Smash Bros Ultimateshowed off all the characters coming to the Switch version of Smash. Every character that has been in a previous Smash gameis coming back, including Snake and Ice Climbers. Many characters have also received an overhaul to make them more competitive and unique.Super Smash Bros Ultimatewill feature more characters than any other Smash game, according to Nintendo. Old stages will also be returning, along with some new stages as well, includingThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s Great Plateau Tower as its own stage.

Super Smash Bros Ultimatewas announced back in March with a trailer that featuredthe Inklingsfrom theSplatoonfranchise and nods to several returning characters, like Mario and Link. Many characters received changes compared to their Wii U versions. Link now dons the Champion’s Tunic and can detonate his bombs remotely. Link can also shoot a sword laser if he is at full health. Mario now has several new outfits, including some fromMario Odyssey. Princess Zelda also features a cosmetic redesign and now appears as if she is fromThe Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Many final smashes have also been fine-tuned to be more fast and interesting.

There have been several rumored leaks surrounding the popular fighting franchise, including the addition of Simon Belmont to the roster. With Ridley, Snake, and Ice Climber rumors being true, so hopefully we’ll see some moreinteresting new charactersforSuper Smash Bros Ultimate.

Super Smash Bros Ultimatewill release in July 20, 2025 for Nintendo Switch.
