Like manySoul Caliburgames in the past, the latest installment of the video game series, titledSoul Calibur 6, will also feature various guest fighters. It was announced earlier this year that one of the guest fighters that will appear inSoul Calibur 6isGeralt of Riviafrom the award-winningThe Witcher 3 Wild Hunt.Very recently, a gameplay video that showcases Geralt’s moves in the game has been posted on YouTube, along with a few otherSoul Calibur 6matches.

The gameplay video of Geralt shows a fight between Taki, who was also recently announced to join the game, and Geralt at an impressive 60fps on PlayStation 4 Pro. The gameplay video shows that inSoul Calibur 6, Geralt uses the same weapons that he uses inThe Witcher 3, which are his two swords. The video also reveals that Geralt will be using some of his signature sword moves fromThe WitcherinSoul Calibur 6,along with a few basic fighting moves such as kicks and punches.

Unfortunately, from this video it does not seem that Geralt will be able to use any magic to aid him in his fights inSoul Calibur 6,even though he uses magic quite extensively inThe Witcher 3and it is evidently a big part of his fighting style. Geralt’s power-up move reveals glowing swords though, which may be compensation for the lack of magic in hisfighting styleinSoulCalibur 6,but it might have been good to be able to play Geralt with a fighting style that is closer to his fighting style inThe Witcher 3inSoul Calibur 6.

The game, and theSoul Caliburversion of Geralt nevertheless look great, and we look forward to being able to play with other possible guest fighters such as  the Hunter fromBloodborneandKiller Instinct‘sJago. We may also see Lucina fromFire Emblemin the game, but none of these characters have been confirmed yet. There is no confirmedrelease datefor the game, but a leak suggests that it may release as early as September of 2018.

Soul Calibur 6is set to release in 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
