The anime adaptation of Ryo Shirakome’sArifureta- From Commonplace to World’s Strongestlight novel series will be getting a new OVA, the anime’s official website and Twitter announced on Thursday.
The OVA isexpected to air sometime this year, and a teaser trailer was released alongside the announcement. The anime’s second season premiered in January, with the 12th and last episode having aired on Thursday.

Arifuretawas first published as a web novel on the popular user-submitted content site, Shōsetsuka ni Narō. The main series ran for 8 volumes and concluded in 2015, with additional side stories released sporadically in the years following. Overlap picked the series up for publication in 2015,releasing the first volumeof the light novel in June 2015. The series is released under the Overlap Bunko imprint with illustrations by Takayaki. Its popularity has inspired both manga and light novel spin-offs.
A manga adaptation illustrated by RoGa began serialization in Overlap’s Comic Gardo magazine in 2016, and has amassed 9 tankōbon volumes so far. A manga spin-off written and illustrated by Misaki Mori,Arifureta: I Love Isekai, began serialization in Comic Gardo in 2017.
TheArifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest Zerospin-off light novel was serializedfrom 2017-2021 under the Overlap Bunko imprint. A manga adaptation illustrated by Ataru Kamichi currently runs in Comic Gardo, having begun serialization in 2018.
A 13-episodeanime adaptationby White Fox aired during the Summer 2019 season. The series was written and directed by Kinji Yoshimoto (Unbreakable Machine-Doll, I Couldn’t Become a Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job) with music by Ryō Takahashi (Princess Principal, SK8 the Infinity). Akira Iwanaga (Corpse Party: Tortured Souls, Kingdom: Season 2) succeeded Yoshimoto as director for the second season, while Shoichi Sato (Angel Heart, Tenchi Muyo! GXP) took over the series’ script. Asread co-produced the second season alongside Studio Mother.
J-Novel Club publishes the light novels digitally, while Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the light novel physically alongside the manga adaptation and spin-offs.
