The Show Is A Spinoff From A 2020 Hit

Resident Playbookhas debuted on a major Netflix chart. The limited series isa spinoff from the popular 2020 South Korean medical dramaHospital Playlistand follows the trials and tribulation of first-year OBGYN resident Oh Yi-young (Go Youn-jung), who is working in the Yulje Medical Center’s Jongno branch. AlthoughHospital Playlistseason 3never happened, the new show has arrived three and a half years after the series finale to take its place, with new episodes dropping on Saturdays and Sundays on tvN and on Netflix in select regions.

Although there is no overlap in the main casts ofHospital PlaylistandResident Playbook, both series take place in the Yulje Medical Center.

Netflixhas now calculated their global top 10 chart of the most-watched non-English shows on the platform for the week of April 7 through 13.Resident Playbookhas debuted at No. 10with 1.1 million viewers amassing a total of 3.1 million viewing hours. That week, the show was in the Top 10 in Indonesia, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
