Sound Brewery announces that it is launching an officialMortal Kombatbeer, which will feature three different beer styles during a limited production run.
The Sound Brewery in Pousblo, Washington is creating three different officially licensedMortal KombatXbeers, with each brew arriving in 22 ounce bottles for a limited production run. Each of the three beers focuses on a differentMortal Kombat Xcharacter, and are flavored to match their personalities. These brews include an IPA, a saison, and a stout, so fans of both light and dark beer should be appeased by the offering.
Here are the beers as described in the official press release:
This isn’t the first time the video game industry has tapped into brewing, with Bethesda having teamed up with Carlsberg UK to create some admittedlypricey crafts in celebration ofFallout 4,and evenAnomaly: Warzone Earthgetting a small 40-bottle production run back in 2012. It’s a great way for a brand toreach consumers with merchandising unexpected places, and if any video game series should foray into adult beverages, it may as well be one of the most non-kid-friendly franchises such asMortal Kombat.
There’s no word yet as to when the beer will be ready for public consumption. However, but we will hop to it and share the news when the the brews get an official release date.
Despite the latest game launching over a year ago, this is the second time theMortal Kombatproperty has made waves this week. As it happens, actressMegan Fox discussed her dream roleearlier this month, saying she wanted to star in aMortal Kombatfilm.
In strictly gaming news,Mortal Kombat Xhas been actively supported post-release by some brutal DLC ranging fromthe xenomorph fromAliento the horror legend Jason, both of which are prime examples that really solidify this whole “not-for-kids” theme that the beer is continuing. Now Dan Forden may have to say “tipsy” instead of “toasty,” though.
