Mortal Kombat 11has a diverse roster of 25 fighters at launch, but even so, some fan favorite characters have been left out of the action this time around. This includes Ermac, who has been in the series sinceUltimate Mortal Kombat 3, but has been regulated to a Krypt cameo in the new game.
InMortal Kombat 11, players can find Ermac in the Krypt, assuming they know where to look. There’s an elevator in Goro’s Lair that leads to a place called the Upper Cavern. By following the path out of the Upper Cavern, players then reach a place called the Lower Pit, which includes some deadly spikes sticking out of the ground.
The first timeMortal Kombat 11players reach the Lower Pit, Ermac will fall from the sky and get impaled on one of the spikes. By examining Ermac’s corpse, players will get their hands on Ermac’s Soul Amulet, which just so happens to be one of the most important key items in the entireMortal Kombat 11Krypt.
Ermac’s Soul Amuletis necessary forMortal Kombat 11players to use their Soul Fragments in the Krypt. Soul Fragments are the green currency collected throughout the game, and they are used to unlock Soul Spires as well as manipulate some objects in the environment. For example, there is a pile of rocks in the Lower Pit that can be moved using the Soul Amulet. Typically, anything in theMK11Krypt that can be interacted with using the Soul Amulet will have a green light coming off it.
Of course,Mortal Kombat 11players will need souls to spend once they have Ermac’s Soul Amulet, but luckily there’s a number of ways to get Souls in the game. For example,Mortal Kombat 11players can get Soulsjust by completing matches, but there are also some ways to get Souls in the Krypt if they know where to look. Recent updates have also made it somewhat easier to get Soul Fragments, soMortal Kombat 11players shouldn’t have too much trouble amassing the souls necessary to unlock things with Ermac’s Soul Amulet.
Mortal Kombat 11is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
