Ever since the firstMortal Kombat 11beta was datamined, Ash Williams fromEvil Deadhas been rumored to be a DLC character for the game. However,Ash actor Bruce Campbell denied the rumors, stating specifically that “Evil Dead’s Ash” will not be DLC. Now it appears Campbell was telling the truth, but Ash is still coming toMortal Kombat 11. A new leak points to notEvil Dead’s Ash asMortal Kombat 11DLC, but rather the version of Ash as seen inArmy of Darkness.

As previously mentioned, Ash was originally found in theMortal Kombat 11game files by dataminers. At some point, NetherRealm Studios update the game and removed any reference to Ash, but the latestMortal Kombat 11update appears to have added that data back into the game. This is still not an official confirmation from NetherRealm, but the evidence is starting to pile up that Ash is coming toMortal Kombat 11in some capacity.

Dataminers have also found evidence that other rumored DLC characters that were previously removed from the game files have also made their way back into the game. Apparently, files for Sheeva and Fujin are once again inMortal Kombat 11’s game files, which could be an indication that the long-rumoredKombat Pack 2is finally close to being announced.

It would make sense for NetherRealm Studios to pull the curtain back on theMortal Kombat 11Kombat Pack 2 now, as it has finished releasing all of the characters promised by the first Kombat Pack with Spawn’s recent release. Plus,Mortal Kombat 11game director Ed Boon has promised more surprises, which many have already assumed is in reference to more DLC characters for the game.

With most major public gaming events canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it’s unclear when an announcement for moreMortal Kombat 11DLC would be made, but hopefullyNetherRealm Studioswill have more to share sooner rather than later.

Mortal Kombat 11is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
