Although BioWare is known for including romance links that allow their protagonists to sleep around with several of their encountered companions, it looks like the upcomingMass Effect: Andromedawill be turning up the heat a little. With no official ESRB rating provided just yet, it seems that the title has lost its “partial nudity” advisory in place of a “full nudity” warning.
BioWare general manager Aaryn Flynn confirmed the news, telling fans on Twitter that the game is “totally softcore space porn”.
Although many believed the comment to have been made as a joke, the executive denied trolling fans, claiming that his statement was true. Early assessments of the game suggest thatMass Effect: Andromedawill also have advisory warnings for blood, strong language, strong sexual content, and violence, alongside the nudity claim.
So far, retailers are displaying the title as a PEGI 16 in Europe, with a MA15+ rating quoting “strong sex scenes and violence” for Australia.
Of course, nudity is probably a very small part of the game, which focuses more on storytelling andimpressive-looking combat, but it seems that when it comes to sex,Andromedawon’t be pulling any punches.
This goes with what producer Mike Gamble announced, also on Twitter, earlier this year. When asked about the game’s more intimate romance options, the BioWare employee informed fans that there are alot of viable sexual partners, and the sex scenes themselves would be pretty detailed too.
We’ll have to wait to see exactly how unrestricted BioWare has chosen to be with its latest project, but there’s not long to wait now. WithAndromedaofficially going goldlast week, we’re just over three weeks from launching into the newestMass Effectadventure, and whether you’re looking to see some detailed alien nudity or not, there’s a lot to be excited about.
